Ok, I should be writing… and I swear, i’m on my way out the door to write, but
I was looking through Etsy.com– the website for cool crafters, DIY buying and selling and came across this awesome item:
a Wenis Felt Badge! from the seller: Mooseandbear . Check out their other items, and their [...]

You like me! You really like me!*
March 21, 2008
*contrary to popular belief, this is not what Sally Field said when she won the Academy Award in 1985 (her second) for “Places in the Heart.” She actually said: “…I can’t deny the fact that you like me, right now, you like me!”
In any case, somebody out there likes me. Or, likes my writing project. [...]

No, that’s not a song from the musical “Rent.”
That’s how many words I wrote today! On my Spring Break! (who needs Daytona Beach, eh?)
I wrote 12 pages.

That’s probably more writing than i’ve done in the last month.
I am, as Eduardo puts it: En Fuego. (which I think means on fire?)
It was such a good [...]
American Photobooth
March 16, 2008
So, yes, the Photobooth reading on Thursday night was a smash. The Whistlestop was packed. Friends, family–my sister!, and students came out to see us. A real photobooth (from photoboof.com) was set up in a corner of the room and on a big screen in front of the audience hundreds of photobooth strips flashed by. [...]
No V-Shot, sorry.

The Photobooth Reading was awesome. Such a blast. Thanks to everyone who showed up, and special thanks to those who
sent in photostrips (they all flashed on the screen before and after the reading) . I’ll blog more about it later, but here’s a photostrip of me and Ted and our friend Jen from last night.
Confidential: [...]
Tonight, Tonight, Tonight (whoa, oh)
March 13, 2008
I’m reading two short pieces, and then a longer piece about my mother.
It should be a blast– i’m very excited– we’ve got a DJ, a movie screen showing hundreds of photobooth strips, and an actual photobooth set up (courtesy of Photoboof) so that those in the crowd can take their own photobooth strips.
Hope to [...]
I Plan NOT To Read It –Joan Crawford
March 6, 2008
Surely everyone has seen the blog posts about Vanity Fair’s Hollywood issue, right? The ones with the really amazing clips of current actors recreating scenes from classic Hitchcock films?
Well, I finally got to see the actual magazine issue and I love it. I always do, i’m such a film nut. But what I really love [...]
Grants
March 2, 2008
Remember Grant Goodeve? He played the oldest son, David Bradford, on Eight Is Enough. (photo courtesy of becoming.net).
He also sang the title song.
Well, this post has nothing to do with Grant Goodeve, but it does have to do with Grants.
I spent just about the entire weekend working on a Writing Grant.
The website for the grant [...]

I’m giving a reading in mid-March at The Whistlestop Bar in South Park, San Diego.
I read there a few months ago (my essay from Pindeldyboz, “Son of Kong”). This time i’ll be reading (with three other people) about Photobooth photo strips. You know those booths that they have at malls, and stores, and fairs where [...]
Pink and Refined as a Cameo
February 11, 2008
I’ve got to finish Julia Glass’ Three Junes by this week as I have Felicia Sullivan’s The Sky Isn’t Visible From Here next on the queue. I’m assigning an excerpt from Felicia’s book (the first chapter) for this weekend’s reading (from a packet that includes an essay by Alice Walker, an excerpt from Alison Bechdel’s [...]
